ESTAR Radio is excited to announce our first re-release, Richard Tracy’s 2009 self-titled album “Richard Tracy”. Richard Tracy is an hip-hop and electronic experimentalist who released a handful of albums in the late 2000s before suffering a nervous breakdown and removing himself from the industry. After a 10 year hiatus Richard Tracy makes his triumphant return to music, exclusively through ESTAR Radio. We have released two singles, with the album set to release at the end of January 2023.

Richard Tracy is a hip-hop and ambient experimentalist who gained minimal recognition in the early 2000s Los Angeles underground. On the verge of minor success, Richard Tracy suffered a major nervous breakdown. He stopped making music and began disregarding his previous works as "idolatry to his influences". He claimed that he "could never produce something truly original so why try to make anything". By 2011, Tracy had disappeared from the world of music. Any traces of his previous works, lost. In 2021, we at ESTAR Radio found a one of one 2007 Richard Tracy demo tape at a garage sale in Sherman Oaks, the homeowner was a close childhood friend of Tracy's. Amazed by the music we tried to track down the man who made it. Through a series of emails and phone calls we found Mr. Tracy, who is currently living in Santa Rosa, CA. He was excited we had found his tape and was enthusiastic to talk about his music. During the 10 years he wasn't making music he got married, had a daughter, became a raw vegan, worked as a landscaper/gardener, and eventually moved away from Los Angeles onto a micro-farm in Northern California where he and his family grow all their own food. He began to make music again in 2020. We began a correspondence and he began to send us music, new and old. This self-titled album was originally recorded in his Los Angeles bedroom studio in 2009 and has remained unheard until now. We are honored to present this album to the public and hope it captivates and moves you as much as it does us.
